Richard Latham has spent over 35 years working within the golf industry and has developed a deep knowledge of the game’s history, traditions and architecture.

As former General Manager of the National Golf Centre at Woodhall Spa, the historic home of England Golf, Richard has been closely involved with some of the most important venues and organisations in the English game.

Alongside his professional career, Richard has enjoyed a distinguished amateur playing record spanning more than five decades. He has competed in both The Open Championship and The Senior Open Championship, represented England in international senior team events and Great Britain & Ireland in the Concession Cup, while also winning several major amateur titles.

Richard now focuses on golf heritage projects, historical research and writing, helping clubs, organisations and individuals preserve and tell the stories behind the game and its courses. He is the author of several books on the history and evolution of golf courses, including his most recent work, Golf and the Rose – A Centenary of English Amateur Golf, a comprehensive 500-page history of the amateur game in England.

Through research, writing and consultancy, Richard continues to support those who wish to explore, document and celebrate the rich heritage of golf.
